So I've ordered a Gigabyte 980Ti G1 a while back since I really need it for my UHD monitor.
When looking over reviews, I specifically picked this one because of the 120% power limit, cooling of VRAM, and room for overclocking, as I want to squeeze the maximum out of it on air (for now).

I'll jump to it: Overclocking, Noise, Availability & Price

The whole MSI 6G is quieter thing didn't faze me too much, since the difference is very small once you consider fan curves & temps.
I currently have a loaner GTX 590 from a friend and holy sh*t is it loud. It's almost as bad as my reference 290 I had to change the cooling on. So I really don't want to have a card that's that loud when OC'ed.

The thing is my order has been delayed to the 14th. And the Palit Jetstream version just launched and is in stock right now, and is quieter than ANY 980Ti out there while having temps on par with the rest. I've suffered 4 delays on my G1 and I'm f*cking sick of it. 2560x1440 sucks on a 40" UHD monitor btw.

Factors you should know about:

- From what I've seen with overclocks actual power usage vs limit doesn't ever go over 97%, so 120% may seem excessive ?
- Coil whine varies from card to card, but Gigabyte is actively accepting RMA requests on the basis of loud coil whine, so that is a big plus, my R9 290 had some whine :/
- I would be paying 15 € more for the Jetstream including shipping ( I only paid 705 including shipping for my G1, best deal in Europe )
- I like the G1 better visually, and I like its short height vs the Jetsream
- The jetstream is ugly, but my case has no windows, so does it matter ?
- I don't care at all about DVI
- I'm fine with adjusting the fan curve so it sits @ 80C with normal fan noise
- In a year or 2 I may want to buy another and slap some EK-Waterblocks on there, G1 EK blocks are confirmed, Palit JetStream blocks aren't.
- Realistically, in 2-3 years I'll just flip it and buy top of the line again when going for waterblocks so that isn't a factor. Plus Fury X looks so sexy with EK blocks.
- Palit may be the biggest, but I would still take MSI, Gigabyte, Sapphire over them IF the performance is on par.
- If I stick with the G1, I'll have to wait 2 days longer if it isn't delayed again.

Also Look at this and what the uploader said:

I took it back, temps were still in the mid 70s on overclocked to 1514mhz core even with the fan nearing 70% speed,  which was too loud for me.

On one hand as I said, I'm fine with a 60% fan speed 80C Overclocked card, but I've already invested in all Noctua fans for silence, I'm I compromising for performance sake ?

/Edit
Oh and the MSI one isn't an option, it's not in stock AND more expensive, so is the Zotac.

That's no moon, that's a death ball !
