Your prob best off getting a new mouse and monitor, then if you have enough left over upgrade your RAM to 8gb.

I was thinking of getting this monitor, seemed like a pretty good deal

don't get a 27" 1080p monitor, the space between pixels is way to big.

Get a 23" monitor like the ASUS PB238Q and its cheaper to. and the rest of the money put toward a mouse.

What about a vx238h Cheaper and a lower response time

Or maybe a VN247H Has anti glare along with the 1ms response time

8 gb of ram is a sweet spot for gaming, you'll get a few fps from it. Then look at storage, if you need it. You might not need it, we don't know. Then mouse before monitor. You'll play way better with a good mouse over a good monitor. But that's if you play games, we don't know that either

The vx uses a TN panel so colour reproduction is horrible when compared to the IPS panel in the PB.  An IPS panel is worth $35 over a TN, TN's may be faster but the colour, sharpness and viewing angles of an IPS are worth more in almost all circumstances as you dont need to stare directly at the center of the screen and you can see smaller details in a space.

What about the Asus vn, what panel does that use

Trust me when I say if you're going to upgrade anything at all, the ssd will make the most drastic improvement. It makes a world of difference.

I was thinking of getting this monitor, seemed like a pretty good deal

http://www.microcenter.com/product/384758/EQ276L_27_Widescreen_LED_Monitor

Like other have said, IPS will look better and and a smaller display will have better pixel density.

Here's what you should get: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1lNoV

About the ram, it would be nice if you could run by what kind you have. If you don't know the name, just list the timings and voltage. I chose the most generic ram that would most likely work with your stick.

Sorry the ram is old and i don't know all that but i have 2x2gb sticks so i would have to get 2x4gb pack of RAM since my motherboard only has 2 slots and 1333mhz

Oh. Here you go then: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1lNy1

A bit close to the budget. Is that okay? Technically over it if you don't count the rebate.

In that case, I'd actually not get the monitor and get the ssd instead.

Could get a hybrid drive and mouse then if possible an ips monitor, that way you get decent speed similar to a ssd but the storage of a HDD.

Get an SSD.

Not only your HDD is not a Black series, but Blue, but an SSD will reduce the bottleneck you are experiencing in term of performance, quite significantly to be perfectly honest.

I used to be skeptical as you are now, but one day I went "what the heck", and got a 5 year warranty SSD, and now I am like "HOLY PINEAPPLE! Why didn't I get one before!".

It's probably because most people don't believe the kind of improvement the ssd can make is possible without seeing it beforehand.

Id say dont go for that monitor, 27" is more than you need and the cheap ones like that will disappoint you (I have made the same mistake in the past).

Go for a 24" monitor or around the same price or even a bit higher if you can and it will be way better value.

i7 3770 | Asus Maximus V Formula | Asus GTX 780 | Corsair H100i | Silverstone Strider Plus 750W | Obsidian 650D | Samsung 840 Pro 128GB | 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance Pro
