Stuttering in GTA 5 [SOLVED]

Go to solution Solved by Lolzious,

INB4 windows 10.

Go back to 7 and wait for it to be released...

Try turning off Xbox app DVR feature.

I wonder if GTA 5 has issues with that game. Is your graphics driver for W10 as well? I think AMD has drivers specifically for W10 now.

Nevermind, fixed it by using an older driver for win 8.1

thanks anyways tho

So I recently switched from Windows 7 to Windows 10, which required a re-install of GTA 5 (don't ask why). Anyyyways, I finally installed it, and it is stuttering like mad, even on the lowest possible settings. Before, even with my shitty CPU, I could play it on medium-ish settings, staying above 30fps and averaging probably 45fps. I tried updating my GPU drivers, running on the lowest settings, monitoring temps (GPU stuck at 60c and CPU didn't go above 70c) and turning down the resolution (native 1080p). I have it installed on a 5400rpm 2.5" HDD and my specs are as followed:

CPU: A8-5600k (quad, 4mb L2, 4.1ghz OC)

RAM: 2x4gb Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz

Mobo: MSI A88X-G43

GPU: XFX 280X (no OC)

PSU: 600w CX600

240gb boot SSD

EDIT: I feel so dumb, I never thought to try DX10 ._. I'll give you guys an update in a minute

Was the game on the hard drive before?

Yup. Only thing that has changed is the OS.
