Is GTX 750 Ti good for first PC?

Is it still solid option for a first budget gaming rig or not?

its a great card

but the GTX 950Ti is coming very soon you might want to wait for that instead

it is good but 950 ti is right around the corner, and for about $20 more you can pick up a 270x which destroys it, or maybe a mid range 300 series card.

for a budget build, it's fine but do try to get something on a tier higher if possible...

I think the 750 Ti is fine, but yeah OP, you can probably find a 270(X) around the price of the 750 Ti which is about 20% better. \

Also, I noticed the Xeons in your build. Where did you find the LGA 1366 mobo? They're so expensive nowadays..

ebay, it's really an amazing deal! Got the Xeons for $80 each, got the board for $150, and the ECC ram for $70. The board and cpu's themself cost the same as a 4770K and the Xeons genuinely demolish the 4770K when it comes to multi threaded performance ;)

On Cinebench I got something like 1350 while the 4770K got something in the 800s, it's really insane :D

Yeah, it's only 20€ more here in Finland!

GPU budget? :) Try and go for 280 or a 290 if you can AMD wise, or 970 Nvidia wise.

970 is definitely too pricey for me but 280 could be decent.

280 is a good choice, will work well for 1080p :)

Edit: either that or a 960

I'm genuinely thinking about doing that honestly :P. How's the power consumption & do you have em OC'ed? Gaming performance is probably around an ivy bridge i7 I'm guessing?

You really should! It's simply amazing :D PM me and I can send you some good deals :) And sadly I don't, you have to buy the SR-2 to OC them and that board is genuinely a fortune. Gaming performance is decent as far as I can tell, but not too sure speaking I don't play many intensive games. Tell me some games you play and I could probably do some benchmarking for ya ;)

Ite päivittelin just GTX 970 näyttiksestä tähän nykyiseen, mutta 970 on kyllä aika hyvä sweetspotti tällä hetkellä ainakin 1080p resolla, ei mitenkään ylihinnoteltu ja teholtaan antaa kyllä rahalle hyvin arvoa.

Benchmarkkeja kandee seurailla, niistä saa ihan semi hyvää perspektiiviä. :)
