Very old GPU with new ''modern'' build

Hi everyone.

Recently i have build a new (and first) PC, but, as i was doing and buying it piece by piece i got to a point in which i just needed the graphics card. So i searched and found a very old graphics card, its an ATI Radeon from the 600x series, and i was wondering if the card could be in anyway damaging to the rest of my computer, as im getting quite some Cpu temperatures and sometimes the OS crashes, Here are my Specs

Could it be that in any way the GPU is making the cpu work harder?

Or a bad airflow of the case?

Because on a minimum usage of the computer, the cpu usage shown in Task manager reaches more than 70%

The GPU should not cause any problems, make sure you have good airflow, and see what background programs are running. That cpu should not be at 70 percent when idle

Drivers of card that old might be not working correctly and causing crashes, though I doubt that it can cause high cpu usage, but you can expect everything from bad drivers (maybe the gpu is broken? )
I would recommend getting a low end gpu till you can upgrade, you can get AMD HD 5450 ~30USD new.

I think it might me a mixture of both. I have gotten 2 more fans for the case, and now it never reaches the 60º, but the CPU usage is still the same, But no crashes or anything.
