I don't get tv & internet over the same line.

I use Directv, because, awesome channels, quality, and extras. And I have Fios for my internet, because latency is amazing, and the bandwidth and speed is solid. Especially compared to the other providers in my area.

Google fiber for internet haha.

I would get google fiber but it is a bit to expensive for me and they don't have it were I live at the moment.

What kind of extras does DirectTv have?

Ton's of extra channels, the vast majority of which I don't watch. The ability to rewind back a majority of shows to their beginning incase you miss it and didn't have it recorded. Or just wanted to watch that episode of what ever from the beginning even though you picked it up 1/2 way through. the ability to draw on a back catalog of shows over the internet. The ability to watch shows on your mobile devise with their app, that sort of thing.

Directv is expensive though. Like, really expensive. But, you get what you pay for, legitimately. Dish? Dish says it offers the same thing, but having come over from dish to Directv, it's just not even comparable. The quality and amount of extras you get are far, far more yielding than the crappy intermittent service and tiny channel choice on dish.

Only downside of satellite TV, is when it starts to storm, even a bit, your HD channels will go offline a lot. The regular channels are generally fine though, and since I live in a place that is notorious for raining maybe, 12 days out of the year it's nothing I need to worry about, but if you're on the east coast, or far north, then you might consider that.
