I have an AMD A4-7300 "Dual-Core" Processor, But Windows only detects 1 core, 2 logical processors. I'm confused, couls somebody help me with this?  :D

1 core 2 threads.

like a xeon or I7, they are really 4 core 8 threads. they are marketed as a "8 core" though

Incorrect. They are not marketed as eight core chips. They may be marketed as 8 logical cores, but not 8 physical cores. In the case of @Alexander Thunderhunter, it's because the APU uses a single module and Windows detects that as a single core - each module contains two physical integer cores, but Windows sees those as threads.

I seen 8 core slapped on a bunch of devices. keep in mind local shops/sellers besides big companies will DO ANYTHING to make it sound better.

Did they actually have 8 physical cores though... I mean, on eBay the amount of times i've seen "Dual Core - 3.2GHz x 3.2GHz = 6.4GHz"; so it's possible i guess.

In order to get 6.4GHz, they would have to take 3.2+3.2. You have 3.2*3.2, which is 3.22.

Intel does not advertise eight core chips unless it actually has eight cores. Some smartphones have eight core CPUs, but it's because by definition, they have eight cores. Feel free to prove me wrong.

Your point being?

I was saying that 3.2GHz is the clock speed for the chip, and doesn't double the clock speed; rather, both of the cores would be of 3.2GHz but would not combine clock speeds...

never once said it was intel themselves mate. Just seller's stretch what a core is for marketing. that was my whole point.

sorry if my first post was to vague. thats what happens when you describe something in 30 seconds and someone calls you out on a side comment:P

That's the thing. You mention Xeons and i7's and then mention that they're advertised as eight core chips. For the record, AMD's marketing is biting them in the butt with their APUs. They now advertise "compute cores" which includes both GPU and CPU cores.

And what would suggest I do to solve the problem?

It isn't a problem. What you're experiencing is proper and normal. It's how the architecture is set up and how Windows 8.1 is set up to "understand" it.
