Windows 7 New Build

Hi All,

 

I am starting a new build project and wanted to know if I can reuse my Windows 7 install DVD on my new system.

 

1. By the time I get my new system built Windows 10 will be out. Can I still use my Windows 7 DVD to install and get the "free" upgrade?

2. Will I have to pay to activate a new Windows 7 licence?

3. Would it be far easier to simply by Windows 10 at build time?

I believe you can re-use your current license but it has a certain amount of activations (correct me if i'm wrong), so it's worth a shot, you may have to speak with MS on the phone but hey if it saved you $120 or whatever it is for a win10 license, why not.

10 activations was Vista, idk if they have it still.

 

Anyway, all retail copies can be reused. Some OEMs can too, but I can't tell how because of CoC.
