Looking for a new TV

jamyd0dger

Hey!

So basically i'm now looking to replace my 47" LG 1080p 3D tv for something better suited for me.

My main concern when buying TVs now is the lag input, my LG 47LW450U was awful! and i mean really poor. I am thinking of downsizing to a 42" Sony/Samsung. What do you guys think of these three choices ? The sony and samsung both look really nice, i dont care much about smart features or 3D, I just want a good looking picture and as low a possible lag input.

If you guys think im missing out on a decent TV let me know! budget of £550 max.

Thanks!

Why do you want low input lag on a TV? You should really be looking at monitors for gaming and not TV's.

As for a good looking picture, the Panasonic TX-L42B6B uses an IPS panel.

I would recommend the LG 50PN650T because of its size and response times, but plasma has its drawbacks.

The input lag on TVs is still high, pretty much regardless of which one you choose. You may want to look at a monitor instead.

I have the LG 50PA6500 Plasma TV, and it's fantastic. Not sure how close it is to that model listed, but price wise converted to CAD would be somewhat similar (That one would be a little more expensive). I don't game much on it, but it's connected to an HTPC and I feel no input lag. My roommate games on his PS3 on it sometimes and he has had no complaints yet.

Get the seiki 4k tv

Why oh WHY do people keep recommending this TV? It suuuuuuuuuucks. Read the reviews. The problem is either 1) He's console gaming, and thus it'll be 720p source upscaled, or 2) He's PC gaming, and will be limited to 30Hz/30FPS.

This Panel, while being a 4k HDTV, is crap. And it's a crap 1080p TV. If you want to spend the money, buy an equivalent sized 1080p TV, and have a MUCH better visual and quality experience.

For Sale: Meraki Bundle

I just recently purchased the Panasonic tcp-55s60 because of its low input lag. Rated second place in tomshardware review for input lag. I play hi fps games and they look great on this panel. You need a darker room to accommodate the plasmas weaknesses but its a great deal. Got mine for $999 cad.
