Right now i have a terrible, dual core 2,80 ghz pentium. Most of the time when i test a game at Can you run it, it says the cpu isn't good enough and that it atleast must have an e6600 quad core cpu.

If i upgrade this pentium with a quad core intel, will games run better? I have a geforce gt 730 and 4gb ram. My socket is lga775 ( which is really old i know)

Understand that i dont have alot of money, and please don't say "just buy a new pc with this and that" cos i know i should, but just can't.

I also don't want to max out games on 1080p. I just want to play games at 30-60 fps with graphics medium-low at 720-1080p. Games i wanna play are: the crew, grid games, elder scrolls online, games like that.

Thanks!

Yes, ou are going to get much better performance if you get a new intel core i5 or i7. But you will need to upgrade motherboard. Honestly though, get a better gpu along with it

It's an lga775, or socket t. I also read about if you change too many parts on your pc, my oem windows 7 wont work anymore.

If you change your motherboard, you would have to reset your windows.

How do i do this? I got this pc from someone without a cd or keys. There is a key on the top of the case though.

You just need an install disc then. You use your OEM key and call the 1800 number it gives you when it tries to activate. You go through a simple voice command system and it takes about five minutes. Boom. Reauthorized.

If your motherboard has support for the 1066mhz fsb and 1333mhz fsb you can get Quad core Q9x00 or the Q6600 very easily off eBay. Even the Core2Extremes can be found easily and cheap.

The New Machine: Intel 11700K / Strix Z590-A WIFI II / Patriot Viper Steel 4400MHz 2x8GB / Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC w/ Bykski WB / x4 1TB SSDs (x2 M.2, x2 2.5) / Corsair 5000D Airflow White / EVGA G6 1000W / Custom Loop CPU & GPU

The Rainbow X58: i7 975 Extreme Edition @4.2GHz, Asus Sabertooth X58, 6x2GB Mushkin Redline DDR3-1600 @2000MHz, SP 256GB Gen3 M.2 w/ Sabrent M.2 to PCI-E, Inno3D GTX 580 x2 SLI w/ Heatkiller waterblocks, Custom loop in NZXT Phantom White, Corsair XR7 360 rad hanging off the rear end, 360 slim rad up top. RGB everywhere.

Get something like a Q6600. However first tell us what exact motherboard you are using as it may not be supported.
