8ms is ok?

Hello,

 

i'm about to bye a Dell P2416D, a 23.8'' IPS 1440p 60Hz monitor.

 

I think it is a very good monitor, my only concern is that it has 8ms pixel responce time.

It is ok for gaming? i game a lot on the pc but i play very few fps and stuff like that.

It should be fine.

Most response times are anyway extremely hard to verify so they could tell you practically anything.

Unless you have used a monitor with faster responses times before as your daily driver,  this should be completely fine for a gaming environment.

It really just matters on bigger screens or use in Competitive gaming

Maybe if you're a professional csgo player you will notice a difference. If not, 8ms is fine.

8ms is at the absolute limit of what I would call OK/consider for a purchase but that screen does have a 6ms "fast mode", I'd generally try to stick to 5-6ms on a nice IPS type screen but it is noticeable, its a trade off I'm personally willing to make for a nicer quality panel though (aka not TN). All that being said the listed response times are rarely accurate.

As long as you aren't playing twitch shooters like CSGO you will be fine, anything from 10ms (Bit risky) to 1ms is pretty much okay. 10 is strectching it but 8is good I use a 5ms IPS panel and I play CSGO (Gota love the 5ms panels!! )
