Alright, for the past two days I've had such huge memory usage by doing NOTHING it's been hell. I use Chrome and I recently downloaded Firefox. First I noticed how I was using 3.91GB while just browsing Chrome with a couple tabs on. I restarted my computer and downloaded Firefox, I browsed 30 minutes and my memory usage went to 2.20GB then soon to 3.61GB. At this point I suspect there's something wrong with MY phyisical RAM memory modules? I don't know. I closed Firefox and still my memory usage was this: post-169964-0-09799800-1436093901_thumb.

What do I do? Do I switch to Internet Explorer? I'm afraid this doesn't seem like an internet browser issue and more of a case of old-ass worn out RAM. I just reinstalled my Windows, fully formatted everything, and while I reckon a new install would probably fix this I am not going to go that route.
What do you think?

Well Chrome isn't what's eating all your memory. That's a pretty normal level of RAM in use though, perhaps get another 4GB module?

That's what a memory leak does.

Even though the program (I.e. Firefox) is closed, the OS still thinks all the memory is being used. Your only option is to restart your computer.

Have a look at Linus' TechQuickie video regarding to memory leak.

Chrome (tabs) simply uses up a lot of resources when open, but will clear once you close them.

FireFox has had a memory leak issue for a loooong time, and it is taking a while for them to find exactly where the problem lies.in their coding.

I did watch the video. That's what caused me to restart my PC everytime I sensed something is wrong.

Yeah, because taking longer to load a webpage is great, and who can forget its AMAZING UI?

/s

I wasn't actually joking there, I did a few benchmarks on IE11, it WILL actually beat Chrome in debugs...on a 5960X.

Few years ago when my HDD ( Windows was on it ) was dying I had the same issue. Two weeks later my HDD died and after getting a new drive problem vanished.
