Great, another whiny topic from Lolzious !

Well, I only really make a topic when I need help, or find something really interesting.

 

So, here it goes,

I can't game. For the last month probably, I have just gotten extremely bored with almost every game I've played. Sometimes I'll find a good game and play it for a few hours then get bored and quit. I've tried games I've been looking at for a while, Fallout New Vegas, Besiege, CSGO. Played them for a bit, and got extremely bored. I've tried classics, UT 1999, GTA 3, OSR, The Witcher. I've tried taking breaks, playing with friends, new genres, speed runs, I feel like I've tried it all. I really want to try out console gaming, as 30fps doesn't bother me, and 720p is fine on a large TV (just try, not switch!) I've also been getting bored of working with computers. The other day I found out my old Athlon X64 X2 worked, along with the motherboard, and it took me an entire week to format an old HDD, connect everything together and install Windows. I haven't even installed drivers or anything yet! My downhill bike is sitting with a blown tire, and has been for a few months, and I just don't know. I'm not really sad or anything, I just, don't do anything apart from sit on Youtube, LTT, and Facebook, while occasionally going for swims in the lake. Anyways, off topic. I want to play games again. I love gaming, I built a PC to game. I bought a good mouse to game, and a 200 fucking dollar keyboard, for, yep, gaming. Perhaps I should take a serious break, like putting my PC away for 2 weeks or something. I don't know O.o I'm just rambling now, so I'll end this. ;P

I kinda have the same problem. Can't really get into any games lately.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Well this has been happening to me this year, but for me it was due to a mild depression! But yeah drop your pc for a while and try some new stuff .... Sometimes taking a break from your passion does you good :)

That is a really valid point.

However, I'm only 13, give it time. Haha

 

Please, don't get a console... Have you tried Far Cry 3?

Yea, I am only interested for dem sweet exclusives. And the simple living room gaming ;)

I don't fully understand all the hate consoles get. Sure they aren't a gaming rig, but they are still fun. We cheer "PC MASTER RACE!" until we're on the couch with our buddy fucking around in Halo. At least, that's how I am..

 

They basically overpriced PCs. They are a huge disappointment and 30 FPS isn't acceptable when you've played at 60 FPS for a long time.

Well, the ol' 5600k has never seen 60fps in any demanding game haha. And I am a bit of a disgrace to the whole PCMR theme. I uh.. prefer.. 30fps. 60fps looks... fake. I am so used to 30fps in movies, tv, etc, 60fps just looks weird.

 

I never said anything about "next gen" consoles either ;)

I'm more interested in a PS2, 360, or maybe even a SNES

There are times when I don't feel like gaming. Even tough I have lots of fun games to play I just can't get into them. And I don't really know what gets me over those I just sometimes start playing games again.

 

Also gaming on PC in the living room is not that much different from consoles. A part from some exclusives it's more or less the same. And even though I don't like the exclusives oriented business you are free to pick up and play any game on any console that seems interesting to you.

 

Also movies are at 24FPS not 30. And the there is a huge difference on how movie cameras work to make that 24FPS feel smooth versus how bad games are at replicating that. The way cameras create motion blur is very good and very much fits with how human eye sees motion. And games are very bad at creating that same motion blur. That is why higher FPS in games is needed. The extra smoothness allows our eyes to see it as close to real life as possible and it helps the player to get immersed.

And controlling a game at higher FPS gives a lot better feeling of being in control.

And older consoles like SNES and that area had games at 60FPS(or 50 depending on the region).
