No internet access..

Go to cmd and run the following

 

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

Im the only one in my house that uses Ethernet. All the wireless PC's have internet connection. On my computer it days "network 3 no internet access" Why D:??? Restarted multiple times.

MOTHERBOARD: some Asus motherboard CPU: I3-4130 GPU: Gigabyte(?) GT-1030 RAM: 8GB G.SKILL SNIPER 1600MHZ RAM + 4GB AMD ram PSU: Corsair CX450 CASE: Corsair Spec-03 OS: Win 10 64 bit Keyboard: Logitech G510s Mouse: Corsair G300s Camera: Canon EOS Rebel T5

in command prompt run ipconfig and see if u have an ipv4 address, if not google how to define a static ip. Or go to adapter settings and disable any interfaces u rnt using

run ping google.com do u get a time out sequence?

I would have set a static but thats me...  (So it never happens again)

What kind of approach to problem solving was this, you don't even know what worked. What happens if this error comes back. :rolleyes:

Why does he need a static IP?

 

I am the only one who uses Ethernet and everyone else, 5 people, use wireless and i use DHCP with Open dns and a google dns and we have no problems.

 

I was referring to his statement of exuberance without knowing what fixed it. :lol:

With a static the problem should not occur again as the pc wont rely on the dhcp server
