If your getting it used for cheap yes, of your buying new sell your old GPU and upgrade to a better single GPU.

 Can I put a 2nd R9 280(7950) in my system? Will the PSU be enough? Should I even try considering the small amount of airflow I have?

its not worth it man buy a better card if you want more preformance

7950 is more than capable of handling games.

Thanks for the input, I am not really planning on getting one atm as that would mean me being unable to pay my college fee but I was curious as to future possibilities. When I decide to change/add anything, it would probably be a new GPU.
