headset recommendations

Hello everyone!

 

I'm looking for a new headset.

 

I have owned the G35s for a long time about 3 years now and they just keep breaking. Logitech fixes them for free and sends me brand new one. But I just feel their quality isnt really up to par. They keep braking in the exact same spot. On the left year right where it swivels. I've sent it back 2 times now for that problem now the one I got back has a short in the cable.

 

So other than the G35s What durable headset would you recommend. I'm no audiophile or anything just want something that sounds ok and is <$150 pref. and the mic is good as-well. (close ear)

 

I'm thinking Corsair Vengeance 1500 or 1300 (so I can buy a sound card latter down the line)

 

What other headset are out there that have really nice build quality

no headset, headphone and mic from actual audio companies will kill almost any headset.

 

audio technica ad700 or a sennheiser hd558 is my typical gaming recommendation.

 

get a mod mic or a zalman clip on and you're good to go.

+1 for the headphone mic combo

My suggestion would be sennheiser hd 558

Might have to stretch that budget a little but I you can usually find sales around the place for as low as$100

Zalman clip on mic is just about your only option if you want it to function a headset (just as good as any other cheap integrated one)
