It's not that old and consoles aren't getting any faster any time soon, devs aren't going to make 3rd party games that can't run on consoles. Consoles being many orders slower than the 780ti means it's a good card, for upto 1440p I would say.

what...

What I am trying to say is that devs are not going to make advanced graphics effects that push the hardware to its limits for the most part if they're not able to make those effects run on the consoles, the PC is a small market (talking about AAA games here, yes some aspects of pc gaming are larger like FTP games and such but we're talking about those who specifically buy AAA games and have the hardware to support it) compared to consoles. It's all about money for the big game companies.

right but im talking about how like other Kepler cards are get to ng dated but the 780 Ti is still extremely relevant if you can find one at a reasonable price. Ive seen multiple threads of people asking if they should get a 2nd hand 780 ti or some other card and its always a hard decision because apparently it's THAT good??

Graphics cards don't get less powerful as time goes on, you know. If the new stuff isn't any better, then the older card is just as relevent as the newer one, it's just a matter of pricing after that.

Well older cards like the 780ti are cheaper, many people already have them like you said it's cheaper to buy a second rather than a whole different GPU. 780ti I would say is equivalent to a 980 that's why it's good. Also it was a top of the range card two years ago

2800+ Cores, 3GB VRAM. Yes, the 3GB VRAM is a bit down now, but I'm sure there's a 4GB version somewhere. Those 2800+ Cores provide INSANE processing power when doing paralell tasks, so until everyone has a GPU with TITAN Z levels of CUDA cores, it's damn close to the cores on a 980Ti and TITAN X. Overclock it to match the newer cards and you're onto a winner.

do you mean 6gb models? even though i haven't seen 6gb models like 780

No, only the 780 has a 6GB model. The 780 Ti does not because it would have cannibalized even more TITAN Black sales than it already did.
