Windows OEM?

Go to solution Solved by Kevin_Walter,

OEM just means it's meant for system builders. You'll get an installation disk and a product key. That's it. No fluff.

I've recently bought Microsoft MS Windows 7 Pro 64bit OEM and haven't gotten it yet but I was wondering if I bought the wrong one because ive never built a pc before and don't have a job.. so I don't know if I can install this "OEM" (don't know the meaning). Help?

"A picture is starting to form here... I wonder if it's accurate? Some pieces don't quite seem to fit. Or maybe I just don't like the way it looks."

Don't worry, Windows 7 Pro OEM is fine, I use the Home Premium OEM version and have been for over 4 years and two seperate builds now, but I have to wonder where you got it from, as far as I know you can't buy Windows 7 brand new any more, so I would be cautious as to whether it's genuine or not or whether it's been used already or not.

You'll probably be fine, just be wary of it being genuine.

Edit:

Like @Kevin_Walter said, it's fine, you'll get a product key and a normal install disk, and it'll install like any other version of Windows would.
