Hi just a couple of questions I have about building my custom gaming pc

1.Got any suggestions around the £100 mark for a mother board that is compatible with a EVGA GeForce GTX 660 Ti SC 2GB

2. Suggestions for a sort of flashy case, with leds for around £60

3. Fan cooling, I know that Cosair make good stuff but £20 seems a little cheap to me is there a better fan and once again is it comaptible with the mobo from 1

4. i5 3570k or AMD FX 8350 Black Edition, please include price as a factor in your decision/advice giving.and whether it is compatible with you mobo from 1.

This may be simple qustions to you but I am nerous about buying incompatible parts and amazon doesn't seem to give helpful info

Thanks for your help in advance

This^

Don't allocate 'funds' for each separate part or else you tend to get a very imbalanced build with less performance than you could have.

It's better to stand back and find out which parts would work best for performance and budget.

1. Budget & Location

UK, about £800 streching to £850 including periferals but there are two things I don't want to skimp on CPU and GPU.

2. Aim
Gaming PC that could do some of the bigger games such as BF4/BF3 and Far Cry etc.

3. Monitors
Just the one probabley just 1080p 24" or around that.

4. Peripherals
Windows 7, Keyboard, Monitor within the budget, got my mouse mat and mouse figured out.

5. Why are you upgrading?
Because right now i am using a £400 laptop that is really slow for anything I want to do.

Here you go: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1lb4F

Crossfire ready. Add a Hyper 212 Evo later on for better overclocking.

Is it cutting it too close to the budget?

I was thinking more

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1lbn6

I know it needs a case but any improvements you can make up to my 800 budget would be much appreciated

You won't game nearly as well on a 650 than a 7950...

Spend less on everything else and pour more into the gpu if you want a good gaming rig.

You also need more storage to put games in.

It seems you need wifi. Edited: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1lbzB

Stretch your budget a bit if you can and go with this build.

Thinking of changing the case any issues with the size of GPU/Motherboard?

What is the difference between the Asrock 970 Extreme E4 and E3, is it price or does one come with better features like more PCI x16 slots/PCI express slots or mre IO ports etc, etc. Is it worth changing to an E3 or is it worse?

Nope, not at all. It works fine. The cooling is decent and has cable management holes which are nice. I don't like the look of it though.

The Extreme 4 has 1 more Pci-e 2.0, runs better pci-e speeds supporting triple crossfire, more types of onboard raid, has front usb 3.0 headers, 2 more usb 3.0's, and supports sli while the Extreme 3 only has dual crossfire that's slower and can't sli.

The Extreme 4 is quite better.
