I think it's just reading since its not really writing anything

So if every day I scan like 100GB worth of files, it just reads the 100GB off the SSD and doesn't write at all? Cuz i know that writing too much to a SSD will cause it to die faster

Reading is fine. Do it all day.

It mainly reads. But as @Dave Zember mentioned it writes the scan logs.

Well I have on access scanning and it doesn't do alot of reads on it by looking at the total bytes written in Samsung Magician. Personally I do not do a full system scan unless something is wrong in my system.

To actually kill your SSD as a normal user [not using it as a scratch disk or whatever] it'll take for ever. No worries about that.

You could defrag to kill it pretty quickly.
