So my motherboard has neither an optical cable port, nor rca ports. And I want to use RS 185 Sennheisers with them.

If I buy these : http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Audio-Cable-Splitter-1-Mini/dp/B00004Z5CP/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8 (to go from a headphone jack to RCA cables)

Then plug the RCA cables into : http://www.amazon.com/Analog-Digital-Audio-Converter-Adapter/dp/B005F20756/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1435614812&sr=8-1&keywords=analog+to+digital+converter (to reduce static noise from direct plug in etc/buzz)

Then plug an optical cable from the ADC into the base station, would that work? I really hate my motherboard but I want the wireless capabilities for my headphones (I hate wires)

Thanks for the help!  :D

I'm not sure if this would solve any of your problems at all. Your source is the problem, and you're going from your digital source to analog, then from analog to digital, and then back to analog to hear them. Sheesh.

Save yourself the trouble and get a USB DAC, then connect the DAC to your wireless base using optical or RCA, depending on the DAC you buy.

I'm sure there are much fancier models but this will do the trick: http://www.amazon.com/Signstek-Coaxial-Converter-Decoder-Analogue/dp/B00FEDHHKE

No DAC has optical output, on account of optical being a digital connection.

I see what your saying, but the inputs on my mobo have neither optical or rca, so how would this be possible? There is nothing to plug it into.

See my reply to your other thread, please. The answer is there - you need a USB DAC. You connect the DAC input to your motherboard via USB, and run RCA output from the DAC to the headphone base station. Does that make sense?

ohh, so your saying. All I would need to do is plug it in via usb (with a DAC) then plug the rca into the base station?

The USB DAC connects to your computer through USB. It acts like an external sound card. Then you can connect from the DAC to the headphone's base using RCA.

You connect the DAC to your motherboard via USB, you connect the RCA output from the DAC to the RCA input on the base station.

Ok, thank you. Idk why I thought you needed to do it a different way but anyway, that clears up my question. Also, is spurging for a better DAC like the one you recommended worth it?

That's a silly solution, converting to analog just to reconvert to whatever the wireless transmitter uses...

Soundcards can be cheap, and there are "DAC" products that have an optical output. ->  Syba DAC
