Problem with ASUS Xonar DGX 5.1

Since i changed my graphics card today ive been hearing static coming from my mic. It only happens when i play games.

How can i avoid this?

Put as mutch space between your soundcard, and videocard it sometimes reduces Electro-magnetic interference.

Use a different pci slot.

Shielding is very inportant.

You can still use the mic on your onboard and headphones for the soundcard. The mic pretty much has no difference as far as I can tell unless the sound card will let you push more decibels in your mic.

Try a usb external soundcard with or without 5.1 surround.

If possible use shielded cables.

Do they even make external 5.1 sources for headphones? The EMI is only effecting the mic as far as Darell can tell anyways, so no need.

Windows should still be able to use the ports without installing drivers.

Try the headset in a different computer.

It is most likely the headset because you said even the onboard has it

after loosening the GPU, and Sound card slot, the static sound seems to get less and less. I tried on a different computer mic is fine.

Maybe your case doesn't have a good enough ground connection for all those components. Unscrew your PSU, scratch any paint off where the screws touch the case, then screw it back in. If the static lessens, but doesn't disappear, you know you're having grounding issues with your case. On my case (Silverstone FT03), There's no way for me to get a good ground without breaking out a welder.
