My Gaming PC Configuration

Hello everyone!

 

I'm in the process of building my own gaming PC! I was wondering if you guys could take a look at my configuration before I spend $1,500 on computer parts. All advice is very much appreciated. This is what I came up with.

 

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790 3.6 GHz Quad-Core Processor

 

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler

 

Motherboard: Asus Z97-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard

 

Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

 

Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 120GB 2.5” Solid State Drive & Western Digital Black Series 3TB 3.5” 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

If you're not buying a K series CPU, don't buy a Z97 board, an H97 would work fine :)

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

You dont need an i7-4790k if you are just gaming, go with an i5-4690k. You dont need a aftermarket CPU cooler as overclocking a CPU wont change anything when gaming. (Plus the CPU you picked is locked anyway...)

Agreeing with those above, especially about the i5. Honestly, save the hundred bucks and see if you can work a 980 into the budget. My friend literally just built (a week ago) a z97/i5-4690k/980 Strix comp and it kicks ass in everything.
