Fallout 3 Not Launching

I bought FO3 on the steam summer sale and was trying to give it a go, as I have never played a FO game before.

 

But when I try to launch the game it just bumps me back to steam and doesnt launch the game. Any ideas?

 

Here is a screenshot just before it closes, as soon as I hit "Play" I get dumped back to steam.

Run the program in compatibility mode... also there are a couple good stability mods that you can DL from the nexus that should help...

No go. My game does not have the INI file in that location. I'm not sure where it is. 

 

under documents > my games > Fallout3 the only file I have is FalloutPerfs. No fallout.INI

Try this guide, FO3 isn't Optimized for Win7+ this guide should help you get it running.
