Hi

A few months ago I bought a custom built PC which had windows 8.1 pro installed on it.

as windows 10 is coming shortly I got a message on my pc saying to input Product key to receive a full free copy of windows 10.

I have tried a few things to recover the product key but I have been unsuccessful I would like to have a full version of windows 10 but if I cant find my product key I will have to buy a version of windows 8.1 pro. which I wouldn't like to do.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks james

You should not have to input a product key to upgrade to Windows 10. Pretty sure you got scammed.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

this is the message I received after receiving the windows 10 notification

Where did you buy your PC? It seems to be unlicensed. Contact your system manufacturer about this. The key you are using is not a good one.
