First build any suggestions ?!

So I've posted a a similar topic last year in which i wanted to build a compact pc but days went i got busy with college a just forgot about building a pc. But now I've upgraded my setup and its time to build a pc. Finally !!!

I've decided to go with blue/black theme so for many parts the color was the main reason for selection, my budget is around 1300 USD. I'm using an 4k TV not a monitor as my display. I would like your suggestions/recommendations about any part that i should change or something. As for the parts I've selected:

what do you think about the motherboard, currently I'm not thinking about overclocking or anything. And what do you think about the other parts should i replace something?! :huh:

If you are not going to over-clock why the unlocked processor? Get a i5 4460 or i5 4690 and a H97M motherboard.

I don't think the graphicscard can handle 4k gaming with maxed settings and 120 fps but i am happy with my gtx970 (i ca max pretty much every game with 60+fps at 1080p). I would recommend 16GB of Ram if you are not on a budget (on a budget (GB are more than fine). I use 3x4GB, but only because one stick caused blue screens and i didn't replace him yet. And like Castdeath97 said: If you are not going to overclock there is no reason of getting a unlocked processor!

The case is very expensive for a first build. I wanted the same one, but instead I got the NZXT s340. It's $40 cheaper(usd) and still looks amazing. Also you could get cheaper RAM that's just as fast.

I can't agree with that. I have tried two AMD cards and neither worked properly. Hower my AMD CPU works fine

Why do their cards not work?

 

I know that Linux and OpenGL games has issues but they are not so bad are they?

 

Edit: AMD just trippled their Linux Drivers performance at 300 series launch.

They all froze or even crashed by load. They didn't overheat or anything.

Sounds like bad drivers, typical AMD issues at some games or/if bad driver update...

Could be, but in the future i will stick with nvidia. AMD is in my experience-wise not worth the saved money, but i know a lot of people who prefer AMD and hadn't had any problems yet, so i guess it's just bad luck and i still recommend AMD in budget builds, because i know it can work, but for my own builds i only use nvida.

I got Nvidia cause the drivers for Linux was shit at the time I got the GPU also some of my games has issues with the cards but its actually fixable with 3rd part fixes.

It's good that at least some one is careing about AMD customers needs jk but in my opinnion it shouldn't need 3rd party fixes to work like advertised. It feels kinda cheap and like they aren't careing about customers at lall.

AMD does their best but Nvidia has more money.

the price difference between the 4690 and 4670K is only about 7 usd so i figured why not.   

As for a H97M do you have any board in mind with matching color scheme?! :huh:

Also found this processor, should hold your 970 just fine and is cheaper. You can use the savings to get a SSD then.
