Nevermind I found out how to override it. I had to hold down reset button for 5 sec for Black Ink or do it twice for Color ink.

Hi, I need urgent help with printer. I need to JUST SCAN document. The problem is that the printer did run out of black ink and for some STUPID reason it is refusing to SCAN..... I need to somehow make it think that there is ink in there but I dont know how. It is BLACK ink in and I have only 2 spare color cartridges... would it help if I put one of them in there?

The printer is Canon MP230.
