Singing microphone on the PC?

Not sure if this should be here or in the peripherals part... anyway:

I still have a Shure Beta 58A from the time I used to be a vocalist on a rock band (lol). It's said to be of professional quality, so... now I'm in need of a good headset and I thought that maybe I should focus just on the phones and not care about the mic, since I already have a good one. The question is, it has an XLR plug and the PC is eighter P2 or USB. I already found the adapters, however I read here and there some superficial info stuff about the signal not being enough to support a mic like that one. So, here are the questions:

1. Is P2 better then USB for quality?

2. What would be the cheapest way to extract the most out of the mic?

3. If I just used a XLR to P2 adapter, what exactly would I lose comparing to the answer of the question above?

Don't go direct from either have some sort of hub in the middle to process the sound.

Those kind of mics most probably gonna need a phantom power. Get a USB audio interface, like scarlett focusrite for example.
