Hello everyone!

I was wondering if someone could help me.

I have a HP G61 with a core 2 duo t6600 2.2ghz, 4gb ddr2, nvidia g 103m, 500gb seagate 7200rpm, etc.

I was thinking on getting an SSD for it, but since it is sata 2 I don't know if it is worth it, also, will an SSD make it extremely fast browsing the internet, watching movies and going on facebook?

I'm not playing any games on it, since for that I ahve my gaming desktop, so it would only be for minor tasks.

Also, I opened it up, changed the thermal paste (I put MX-4) and the temperatures arent going past 73 degrees celcius running prime95 for 10 minutes, I assume it is good.

What do you guys think?

Thanks for the help :)

Don't waste your money on that shit hole of a dual core computer and use the money to save for something like a graphics card upgrade for your gaming pc. I am basically saying you can spend your money better, definitely not a smart purchase.

Hey 97pedro,

A SSD would decrease all loading and boot times, increase transfer speeds and improve the responsiveness of your whole system. Even though SATA2 (3Gb/s) has a limit of 375MB/s it is still much faster than regular HDDs and would be a great improvement. :) I would go for it if the budget allows it.

This,

Made a WORLD OF DIFFERENCE to my Mums i5 Laptop (Sata2)

NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCES!

/She had a 5400RPM drive in there originally, what a JOKE, the worse bottlenecking part it could get, comes standard.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
