How do I even plug it in?

Go to solution Solved by You_are_a_cunt,

Ok, so I just watched a video of Linus' and he was reviewing the Fiio Olympus E10 Amp. This connects by USB and has a headphone jack in it. So what this means is that I should plug the Fiio into a regular USB port and then put that cable into the Fiio, and those cables can plug into the KRK's? That's really neat if so.

Pretty much, yeah.

IDK what cables to recommend, since I make them myself ($2 for plugs and $x for y length of cable and that's way cheaper than branded ones)

So I am planning a rig, and right now I don't know what sound card to get, mostly because I don't know what I'm working with. In the future, I want a pair of KRK Rokit 5's, but I have no clue how those even plug into the computer. What setup would I need to use those KRK's? How do they plug in, What do they come with in the box?

I'm one of those people who makes those bass music things.

RCA to 3.5mm jack cable, like this: http://www.amazon.com/Mediabridge-3-5mm-Male-2-Male-Adapter/dp/B004YEBK66/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1435145630&sr=8-1&keywords=rca+to+3.5mm

Those speakers don't seem designed for use other than with an amp, though

What do you mean?

For starters the fact that they're studio monitors, which implies the recommended usage is in a, well, studio.

Second, the features it offers. XLR cable on consumer speakers? Rarely.

I'm not saying they're bad, just a weird choice of speakers for home use, and at $150 each (best buy) also kinda expensive

They are active, got a buildt in amp you should be fine.

Yes, but the line 'Those speakers don't seem designed for use other than with an amp, though' seems to be saying that the speakers were designed to be used with an amp based upon the wording. That is why it is confusing to me.

For starters the fact that they're studio monitors, which implies the recommended usage is in a, well, studio.

Second, the features it offers. XLR cable on consumer speakers? Rarely.

They are easy to find used on Craigslist because a bunch of first timers getting into audio production buy these speakers, and when they move up they sell the old stuff.

I asked what you meant by 'Those speakers don't seem designed for use other than with an amp, though'.

RCA to 3.5mm jack cable, like this: http://www.amazon.com/Mediabridge-3-5mm-Male-2-Male-Adapter/dp/B004YEBK66/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1435145630&sr=8-1&keywords=rca+to+3.5mm

Also if you use it with the E10 (or k), plug it in the back side, in the line out jack, not the headphone jack.
