Is 2b of vram enough for 1080p and future proof?

It's alright for 1080p now and can't say much about future proof.

At the moment I would say 3GB+ is preferred

Wouldn't say future proof, 4GB of vram is kind of the sweet spot for 1080p imo (If you want it to be enough in the near future), you will still be able to play a lot of games that are released right now with 2GB of vram though depending on the game/graphics settings/mods you use.

Depends on what games you're running I have a 670 with 2GB and in only 2-3 of the 10+ games I play do I hit the 2GB cap. But keep in mind any future games coming out they're be more Vram hungry. So 4GB is becoming the new sweet spot quickly.
