need help gettin rid of virus

my pc was attacked by malware when i overrode my antivirus and let a program install itself on to my pc. i immideately uninstalled it, and got rid of all the add ons it put onto my browzer. i ran a malwarebytes anti malware scan and am running a virus scan(avast free antivirus) . it keeps trying to redirect me to a different website but luckily my antivirus is blocking it every time. is there anything else i need to do to cleanse my system?

Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free and scan your computer with it's custom scan and remove the virus.

MBAM has very a good database. It is manual scanner id you use the free version. It does not block viruses but you can manually scan for them and remove them. So you don't have to uninstall your !avast.
