no its a pile of crap i had one, for £5 more i got me one of the best air coolers on the market that gives me 10-13c less heat.

you may aswell get the hyper 212 evo over the h55.

Need to save as much money as possible.  Will the h55 do okay for keeping my CPU cool?

What is your build? Especially your case?

Depends what case he has, it might be better to move the heat out the case directly instead of blowing it around inside.

i wouldnt question it tbh, in the uk the h55 is around £55 thats as expensive as high end air coolers and not worth the money considering the 212 evo beats it at half the price.

H80?

dont buy the h80 either, that costs more than air coolers that beat it. just buy an air cooler mate, like the noctua nh-d14.

It depends what case you have. My friend benefits from a H80 a lot by being able to "move" the heat away from the middle of his PC and cool it somewhere else (he has a mini-atx case) so having a water cooler in this situation was WAY better. Also, if you have an AIO you have bragging rights  :P

EDIT

AIO's look better as well. IMO.

if you spend loads on an aio i personally think youre wasting money, the h100i costs what £100 and the noctua nh-d15 costs £60 and they perform pretty much kneck and kneck, id rather save £40 and have less space.

If you need to save money I think you should stick to air, personally. I doubt an H55 will do that much better than a Hyper 212 EVO. AIOs are fine, but you're paying more for convenience and appearance than pure effectiveness.

the 212 evo beats it, the h55 is a poor cooler for how much it costs, only good use for it now is to stick on my gpu.

Yeah, got mine for £100 as well as 2 Corsair SP fans so it was around £113-£117 all together  :P. It was one of the best investments, yeah I could have had an air cooler, but I could not have a glowing corsair logo on the air cooler   -_-

Also, it looks WAY better because I will not have some big metal cooler in the middle of my case which is completely out of my colour scheme for my build (which is still a WIP)
