You mean a dude who works in IT who raised very sensible criticism against that red dual xeon/680 SLI build and got absolutely blasted by Elric (I know the guy, and he really knows his stuff)?

He said that the graphics cards could do with being a bit further apart (being 2 slot cards on a board with enough PCI-E slots to have them more than 2 mm apart), dual Xeons aren't good for gaming (you're better off with a 2500K), the PSUs are way overkill (like 1000W too much), way too much RAM (nobody needs that much), and his inability to take even constructive criticism (evidenced by the replies, linked below, not embedded due to extreme profanity).

These are the messages Elric made to him:

Not exactly very professional of him.

He called him a 'queer'? why does everyone attack peoples sexuality first? clearly there was no sufficient evidence to make that conclusion so why say it? I used to like Elric but then he started doing shit like that. Pretty unprofessional indeed. I have been watching Linus' videos since 2009 and I have seen many comments regarding Linus' sexuality, and Linus just ignored them.

So you say that elric said that just to get some subscribers?

I don't think so

No, I did not say that was the only reason.  I am saying that was the upside to him defending Linus.  In terms of being a nice guy, he also gets some subscribers out of it.  It is a win-win situation.

My own quotes include:

  • "And I do believe the friendships are genuine."
  • " fawning over Elric and saying he is a great guy, which by the way, he is."
  • "With that said, of course Logan is befriending Linus because they have an incredible amount in common."

I've met Elric in person a couple of times and he was super nice both times. This comment on his channel doesn't surprise me.

Yeah just from watching his videos you can definitely tell he's a nice person. I don't understand why people flame so much over the internet, must be attention deprived or something.

Yeah, he seems decent but I have seen some of his comments regarding trolls on his channels and they are pretty brutal. Pretty unprofessional if you ask me.

Everyone has is own way of making videos :)

For example, I don't like the way that duncan3303 makes his gaming builds because he says the same thing over and over again. For example, with a hard drive, what he said in a build 3 months ago, he says he says the exact thing now(why he chose it)

Another person that I don't like that much even if I'm subbed to, is MKBHD(why he has so manny subscribers?) because he talks more that he should, even if I like his format

If I would have to choose to stick to only one youtuber, it would be Linus because he has charisma(no homo), he is funny but in the same time he delivers the information in a way in which everyone understands it and he keeps in touch with the audience more than any other youtuber that i've seen.

P.S: Damn, I would love to see Linus reading this thread

ALL OF THE HOMO.

I actually like duncan3303's gaming build videos and I highly look forward to watching them when they come out. I notice that the videos have been getting ever so slightly smoother in execution over time though.

I couldn't agree more with MKBHD--same situation here.

I did watch Elric on motherboards.org maybe around two years ago and I was a little bored with his videos. Luckily I saw linus on the Suggestion videos and it changed my life.

This week on Linus' Finest: Elric.

When I discovered Linus Tech Tips, I looked again for more channels that do unboxings and reviews, I found Elric's motherboards.org. From time to time, I watch vid on his channel especially if I plan to buy a product I just want to get every information I can. Elric is awesome, it is good that his style is different from Linus' otherwise it would be boring. Too bad his first channel is gone. Anyway, I want Elric to be a guest on WAN Show.

Pardon my English. Not my native language.
