Retro Gaming Rig?

Go to solution Solved by Kalevro,

You could get Windows 7 and disable aero and stuff it should go back to a windows 2000 theme looking pretty retro. Also use a CRT monitor and an old yellowed business case but with newer parts in it of course if u want to play games.
Emulating old games is a thing too

How do you Build a Retro Gaming Rig?

Hey i wanted to know how do you build a retro gaming computer? Would I have to use old parts or could I use new parts so it can look like a modern pc, and what operating system would I need to use? So i can play all the old games also if I can use modern parts what graphics card would i need?

you could use windows 7, and if you plan on only playing retro games you could get a dual core i3 and a gtx 750 ti, and 4-8GB of ram and get some emulators

I mean the really old pc games like Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone games and doom games like that maybe even older?

I thought you meant games older than 20 years :D

Really, those kinds of games will run well on any system these days. Look at eBay or something for a 5-ish year old system, and install Windows 7 on it and you will be good.

I'm sad that I can't run games such as SimTower on a 64-bit system.

Depends how retro and do you want just games or PC too. You could go to any local recycling center and pick up old case which used to hold P2-3 with win95/98 and mod it so internals would be current gen. And do the UI as said above.

Retro gaming is pretty easy with all emulators and Internet Archive making old games flash versions.
