FX-4350 and r9 270 for GTA V?

Hey guys,

 

So I am building a budget $500 dollar pc for my friend. These are some of the games that he is planning on playing, "counterstrike, soon i am getting arma 3, h1z1, dota 2, league, maybe gta 5. I was planning on building him one with a g3258, but I am torn on the "2 cores is not enough for AAA games like GTA V". So what do I do? Is it better to get a 4350 and a r9 270 or an i3 and 750 Ti?

I'd go for the i3 and 750Ti. It allows for upgrades in the future, seeing as the AM3+ socket is seriously outdated, along with the best FX CPUs bottlenecking high end single cards. If he wants, he can invest in an i5 and better GPU later without having to switch out the board.

Thats mainly up to preference. Ask him if he want a AMD or Nvidia GPU and say they both have about the same performance.

If it is a R7 260x just make sure it is a 2gb card.

Don't get a i3, dual cores struggle on newer games, your best bet is a 860K it's the best budget gaming CPU as of right now.

Are you sure as everyone else has stated that an i3 will work well. Im torn between the two

The 860K is a true quad core and won't have extreme stuttering in games like a dual core will.
