No display with new graphics card

bbuck99

I just bought a new GTX 960 to replace my old GT 640. When I installed the card and plugged in my dvi connector the screen just stayed black and was not receiving an input. I put the old card back in and everything worked perfect. Is there something I need to do to make it work? Please help, thanks. If you need to know my specs just ask.

Reinstall the drivers? :P

GT > GTX could be it just needs the newest drivers. :)

use this http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

uninstall the old drivers by ticking the delete nvidia/amd folder and then clicking clean and shutdown.

turn the pc back on and install the 960 drivers.

some times the BIOS may needs to be updated "get the BIOS update from the graphics card manufacture and your mother board manufacture"

first update the motherboard BIOS then reboot then the graphics card BIOS or see if it did work with a clean install of the DRIVERS FIRST!!!

Yeah mate, put the graphics card in, go to the website and download the lastest drivers and install.

That's after you have removed the old ones and taken the old gpu out.
