It's the normal price. It's coming back down from the price increase because of the fires a few years ago. 

Yeah , that hynix factory fire really messed up the prices for a while . 

 

I'm also expecting prices to drop since DDR4 is coming to mainstream soon enough ( Skylake )

Well, the fire, along with the shrinking supply because of some manufacturers going out of business (at least temporarily, like Elpida) or changing to manufacturing higher-margin products than DRAM. The DRAM prices at the bottom were unsustainable, at least with the manufacturing tech at the time.

Technically, the price should be cheaper than before the fires, seeing as the production efficiency will have improved over the years. 

 

I wouldn't be so sure about DDR4 though. DDR2 didn't really drop in price for a long time, and that was after DDR3 was pretty much the only option for any fairly recent setup.

RAM hasn't moved much in price here in ages. I paid only $55 for my 8GB Hyper X kit in 2012, that same RAM now is between $80 & $100 depending where you shop...
