Hey guys,

I have NOD32 antivirus and i run regular scans.  However I sometimes notice strange things going on with my new pc, do any of you guys have multiple software?  Does anyone suggest I get something good in addition to my nod32?  This may be a dumb question to a lot of you but im new to pc building.  suggestions please

i run norton because i can buy multi license for cheap.

i further run ccleaner (clean out junk and registry - is free) as well as malwarebyte anti-malware free version and run periodic scans... havnt had a virus in years

IMHO, Norton just took up alot of harddisk bandwidth that it slows down to crawl, unless perhaps you have SSD.

I realize a few years back, having antivirus is like doing politics, who has the say of one's file is a virus. If you have multiple anti-virus then one might block the other from functioning, either assume it is a virus or just because of competition

Norton used to be bad, i found in recent years it has picked up its game. I personally prefer bitdefender but when your buying 5-7 licenses for various computers in the house, value tends to win you over each year. SSD's do make it a bit better.

If you're careful, only visit trusted sites, use extensions like Web of Trust, are extra careful when installing software (to avoid adware), the only AV you should need is Windows Defener, also known as Microsoft Security Essentials before Windows 8. I also run a scan with Malwarebytes Free monthly, just in case. If you prefer a bit more security, use Bitdefender Free with Malwarebytes. Always remember that the antivirus is your last line of defense, not the only protection you'll ever need.
