For my next upgrade I plan on buying a new 144hz monitor so I can have a second display. But I'm still confused on the types of cables that are used for displays.

 

I was just wondering if displayport is the ONLY option that allows you to play at 144hz at 1080p. Tbh I'm probably just gonna use displayport anyways, but I love to learn about PCs so I just want this information so I can stop thinking about it. :P

DVI dual link too

Incorrect. Dual link DVI can too - I know because I'm using that.
