This is going to be first actual build. Apart from a failed build i tried a few months ago. I really want to use a few parts i have laying around. Such as a i7-4790k. I really want to take my 1TB(already has Win 7 installed on it) that I have in my dell and throw it in there with my 4TB WD Black. I might add a SSD in it for my high use games i play.

What's up with the beefy power supply? That's way overkill for a 960. Speaking of the 960, I would rather get a r9 280x or r9 290 at this price, they really out perform it in many games.

Well i did the same thing for a HDD (from an old acer) and because i had to reformat the HDD for some reason i needed the windows 7 key from the sticker on my acer. U should have one on the bottom or one of the sides. You would also need Win 7 ISO on a USB stick. Other than that u should be fine :).

Why do you need 16 gigs of ram? If you are just gaming the max you'll need is 8.

I might upgrade to a 970 or 980 ti

The 970 has a TDP of 145 while the 980 ti has a TDP of 250. You don't need that much extra power.

CPU: i5 6600k OCed to 4.5Ghz @ 1.35v, GPU: R9 390 Nitro, Motherboard: Asus z170-A, CPU Cooler: H100i GTX, RAM: HyperX 2x8 16gb DDR4, PSU: Seasonic x650, Storage: 850 EVO 500gb, WD 1tb blue, Case: H440 White/Black

Even all these cards won't need it! Maxwell improved efficiency in these cards, you should more than fine with 600W. Speaking of which once again why the 960 when you can grab a r9 290 or r9 280x at the same price?

Thx if i do this. This is going to be an interesting build.  I'm thinking about using a EVGA Stinger WiFi Mini ITX LGA1150 Motherboard
