I was reading some stuff and ran across this.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonevangelho/2015/06/18/amd-radeon-390x-video-card-edges-out-nvidia-gtx-980-in-4k-gaming/?utm_campaign=yahootix&partner=yahootix

It claims that the 390x edges out the 980 and sometimes even the regular 390 does as well in 4k. I know they updated the Hawaii gpu but was it really this big of an upgrade? Forbes while good for business news i'm not sure how accurate their tech news is.

Does anyone else know anyone who has benchmarked the new rebranded cards? It is quite refreshing that this wasn't just pure rebrand and that they worked on the cards. At least it is if its true.

As far as I know, they only increased frequencies(on the core and memory) and gave the 390X 8GB of RAM by default.

Everybody was so sure... It's just a 290x with 8gb of VRAM don't buy it they said... rumors rumors rumors. Just wait until it comes out

If AMD is just releasing rebrands and still competing with Nvidia, Nvidia should really get their shit together

The ram increased by about 1ghz which is crazy. You couldn't really overclock memory that high normally and to think that you could still overclock this. I'm really hoping this is true.

This isn't a Team Red vs Team Green. This is Team Gamer! Competition pushes graphics and pulls prices down!!! Again I hope this is true!!!!

The Fury was designed to compete/ destroy the 980ti and titan X. The 390x is only $430 compared to $500 980. Why would it compete with the Ti?

Keep telling yourself that. ;) I mean don't get me wrong I am team Red but yea.. No way it will flat out beat the 980ti. imo

Depends on what  you mean by beat the 980 Ti. If it can match the Ti before overclocking then it has beaten it. The Fury and Fury X should be able to do the same when not overclocked. The conference said they were the same except for the custom water cooler developed for the X. So a $550 Fury matching the $650 Ti is already a win. Plus if you say the 4k benchmarks they posted during the conference it was getting hella good fps on ultra in 4k on far cry.

Not really the point though. The 390x shouldn't be compared to the 980ti.
