there are tons of threads on this as well as videos on youtube.

there is NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL between ram speeds.

You may be able to get some bigger numbers in synthetic memory bandwidth benchmarks, but will notice NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL in any other tasks.

The only exception to this is if you are using an AMD APU instead of aproper graphics card, then you may get SLIGHTLY better performance in games. But it would be pretty subtle going from 1600 to 1866.

When in doubt, re-format.

DDR3 RAM speed makes no difference for gaming. Just make sure it's CL9 and 1.5v. Yes the higher speed is faster, but if the Cas Latency is higher than 9 it's not worth it

It makes about as much difference in gaming as the carbon fiber cup holder option on Ferraris makes on lap times.

Unless you have an APU. Then it's like video memory, so get as fast as possible.

Pretty much haha, isn't it like .1 second with 1866mhz? Unless OP has an APU
