How harmful is it if a power supply rated at 200-240V is used in an area where voltages frequently drop and go above that, say 190-250V?

buy a well built power supply, more likely to be able to handle it.

does your power voltage change that much? wouldnt that kill like anything else plugged into power?

if its a good quality power supply your PC should keep running smoothly even with voltage drops

Well, it's a Thermaltake Smart SE 630W with Bronze-level efficiency, Aishi caps and I it ran for about a month like that with no issue. I then got a stabilizer for it but coil whine appeared and when I tried it without the stabilizer it was silenter (it wasn't too loud of a whine) so I am wondering whether to leave it like that or not. As for other things, it doesn't seem to bother them. Usually late at night it goes up aroun 240-245 and some times it drops to 192 during the day.
