Hello, how are you?

I know all the benefits of SSD as the system drive where the OS and programs are installed and the blazing fast boot times...

But from a gaming perspective, what would I gain by having my steam library on an SSD instead of an HDD?

Are there benefits beyond faster load times of the game itself and of levels while in game?

Cheers!

Hello,

Many silly people will state that an SSD will provide higher FPS because it can read and load data faster. This is mostly taken care of by your system's

RAM. In short, the big improvement is boot and load times.

my load times on my wd green were so bad that i changed to an ssd for my os, the difference is so amazing, for gaming there is no fps increase, battlefield 4 for one takes ages to load and on an ssd is a lot faster.

i will note that certain games on my hdd will get fps drops and if i move them to  my ssd they dont, so you could say ssds do help for gaming in certain ways.
