Gsync vs free sync. I'm sorry for another thread.

If you like high power usage of AMD cards then go with FreeSync

If you like low power usage of NVIDIA card then go with G-Sync

I say go with G-Sync coz' like NVIDIA has way better driver support then AMD but on the other hand AMD is cheaper.

They both technically do the same thing-stop screen tearing

amd - freesync

nvidia - g-sync

They just sincronize the FPS output from the GPU and the monitor

Just get the one that is compatible with your GPU.

Nvidia = Gsync

AMD = Freesync

Power usage is less on the FURY cards, but honestly who cares about power.

My jaw DROPPED this morning seeing this!!!! HO LY SH EEEEEET

Now, lets not be a negative nancy or a fanboi for 3 seconds- Yeah people are trashing the new R9 390's that Best Buy has released this weekend and saying its a rebranded R9 290. May be true... personally I'm gonna wait for Linus to say whats up. After all, we are all here because of him and his team right?

This Free Sync monitor is 200.00 bucks cheaper then the G Sync version and has it ALL- and speakers for some stupid reason.. The new R9 390 has a 100.00 increase over a GTX 970 and the 3 videos on youtube about how they are similar in performance say that as of yesterday. So its kinda relative in terms of how well they perform and price. Well, the AMD set up would be 100.0 cheaper UNLESS you wait till teh Fury card or the 390X to come out. That could change things around.

I was strictly a XFX guy for years since the HD 4850 days up until 2014 R9 280X... then I got the GTX 970 Sli thing and the plan was to get a G sync monitor. I am happy with my set up now but the new AMD stuff does have my attention. 8GB of VRAM and only needs a 750W PSU? vs 970 with that whole 3.5GB VRAM debocle...

So I am saying they are about the same right now from what I read. especially in price

I would pick out your preferred graphics card first and then get whatever monitor technology matches it. I already had a pair of nvidia cards so I went with gsync because I'm not going to reinvest in a new ecosystem for the sake of a having one over the other.

CPU: Intel i7 4770k 4.3ghz MOBO: Asus Z87 Sabertooth RAM: 2x8GB RipJaws 1866mhz GPU: 2x GTX780ti SLI 1.2ghz SSD: 960GB 2x Intel 730 RAID0 CASE: Fractal Design Define S COOLING: Custom EK watercooling loop

^ what these two posts above said

I probably fap'd to this new Asus monitor like 3 times today already though... still have a 280X in the AMD graveyard box... a second one is only 200 or less these days >:)
