GTX 960

Hey guys,

I am planning on buying a higher end GTX 960 but then I heard the 970 is MUCH better. I dont wont to mess up and have my money go to waste when I could get more bang for my buck. So what 970 is a small upgrade in price or is equal and will give me better performance?

Thanks guys

Here is the 960 I was going to get: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487132&cm_re=gtx_960_4gb-_-14-487-128-_-Product

The 970 will be more "Futureproof." In fact, I was debating the same thing and I chose the 960 as it gets an average of at least 60fps in most games at max settings in 1080p. If you can spend another $150 get the 970 though.

Get the 970, or the r9 290 if you can't afford. The 960 4GB ain't great.

What model of 970 though. Any one in particular?

The Gigabyte Gaming G1 is the most favourite here in LTT. But if you're out of budget you can always go for the lower end Zotac or Msi models.

You can get R9-290 Tri-X for the same price of that 960 and get significantly better performance.

Would you still say that if, like in the UK, the cheapest 970 is $155.65(£100) more than the cheapest 960?

Yeap, but that's still pretty expensive.
