I can't decide between these 2

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/H97ME/specifications/

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4962#sp

What catches my eye for the ASUS is the Audio Shielding feature which I believe help eliminate any form of coil whine coming from the graphics card being passed through the 3.5mm or USB headset, however the Gigabyte board is a bit cheaper but doesn't seem to have any sort of interference audio protection. I don't care about overclocking.

Both boards have isolated PCB sections for the audio components and it doesn't make a huge difference since it's still in close proximity to everything else inside the case and board. Best thing is to have a DAC that sits on your desk completely isolated if it really matters.

have you ever had to deal with gigabytes...

and at least good software

Yes Gigabyte has bad software but op is not overclocking so won't even use it probably.

Let's just leave it at Asus and Gigabyte both have really bad support.
