Ok, you might be thinking, "just get a desktop." Well, I travel a lot and I need a computer with me. I make music on computers and I have demanding video editing software that I use. My 15 inch MacBook is REALLY struggling to keep up with everything. I don't know if there is a topic with my needs, but here we go.

I need at least a 17 inch screen

At least 8 GB of Ram

1TB of Hard Drive space

Intel i7 CPU

NO plastic case

I do not care about price, since I am just wondering about what laptops are out there.

Also, I have found a laptop. It's the Asus G771JM.

BUT! It has graphics that I think would be to much for me. I game a little. But mostly I make music and edit video for music compilations etc.

So, I was wondering if there's a PC with those specs that I can game a little. (Like Far Cry 3) But, most of the time, it will be used for less demanding tasks.

Also, please see if the battery life is at least 5 hours.

Thanks

@CMP If you want to play Far Cry 3 (even a little) you would need an "alright" GPU. The Asus G771JM comes with a GTX860M right? That would be fine, you could go Lenovo Y50 or a Lenovo Y70?! These are classed as gaming laptops and I think they have too much horsepower for what you really want to do on it I guess.

Perhaps you could get like a GTX 970 or 980 and a 1080p or 1440p display with the akitio thunder2 PCIe box

Well seeing as for gaming that'd anchor you down (though that would only work if you had Thunderbolt 1 or 2). If you can afford it it would appear that for portability the Razer Blade Pro would probably deliver.

Ok, I already checked the Lenovos. My dad has one. The Z710. It works well. All I wanted was an Asus or an MSI. Or to see what options are out there that I do not know of.

You can consider the Clevo P670SE. A 17.3" laptop with the lid's top and base's top made of brushed aluminium (other than that, it is plastic, so it is a half metal and half plastic machine). Comes with quad-core processors (laptop quad-cores start with i7s fyi), a GTX 970M, 3 cooling fans with 2 for the GPU and the last for the CPU. A gorgeous IPS panel for all your video-editing needs. Has 4 RAM slots which can go up to a max of 32GB in total. 2 M.2 SSD slots and 2 regular SATA slots for all your storage needs.
