Finals Week Question

So i have question to all of you other highschoolers there. in my high school, if you ace all marking periods and the midterm (90 or above), you don't have to take that class final, is it this way in other schools? and i am really happy for my school to have this as it means im only taking 2 finals.

 

tl;dr: do other high schools have a system where you can miss the final?

Yes, when i was in high school you could do the same. I didn't have to show up for gym the whole semester, showed up for the exam told me a made an A, i was like wtf. Backstory didn't have to take gym if you did jrotc, i did 4 years and was in after-school programs so they knew me and knew i could run more than a mile so they passed me. Worst part was i couldnt leave school because i had to stay for something after so i walked around for a hour...

It was this way when I was in High School (small private college prep thing), but with some caveats...that I don't remember. I think they left it up to the teacher to chose if everyone had to take the final or if you were exempt entering with a grade > 90% or something.

 

Great system, but I remember how much it sucked during finals at High School because I'd be done for the day by 10-11 AM and then had to wait until 3 PM for the bus. 

 

oh my god...fuck that bus ride...

The public school in my city that is 3rd worst in the state allows that (what does that tell you?)

But the private school I go to you have to take the final if a teacher made the final which is every teacher.
